The new route traced by Fabbri Group towards the complete compostability of food packaging is awarded “Best Packaging 2020 ” for Technological Innovation!
Fabbri Group’s strategy, based on the full synergy of specific machines and films for different applications, is thus confirmed once again as a winner. The 14th October 2020 it is the “Nature Fresh” project that stands out, receiving the historic Packaging Award, promoted by the Italian Packaging Institute, for the category of “Technology” .
The “Nature Fresh” project developed by Fabbri Group includes different wrapping machines with high productivity and “hybrid” operation, able to fully exploit the potential of both traditional plastic films and the innovative certified compostable film “Nature Fresh”, officially introduced by Fabbri Group on the market at the beginning of 2020.
The Jury, which today awarded the recognition to the Group’s CEO, Stefano Mele, during the RE-ECONOMY SUMMIT event at the Il Sole 24 Ore headquarters, motivated his choice as follows: “The performance versatility of the AutomacNF machine (now called “Automac Dual” and “Automac Industrial”) is significant, which allows packaging both with traditional stretch films and with Nature Fresh – the world’s first certified compostable cling film. The runnability is therefore optimized and allows to package and label different types of supports.”
Nature Fresh, a film based on BASF polymers, is the first certified compostable stretch film for automatic packaging on a global scale and is certified as suitable also for domestic compostability. Nature Fresh combines excellent aesthetic qualities (transparency, anti-fogging) with an optimal presentation of the product: it is thus able to guarantee performance equivalent to plasticized PVC films and better water vapor transmission than traditional cling films.
The Automac NF packaging machines (now called “Automac Dual” and “Automac Industrial”), in addition to optimizing the machine cycle of the film, allow you to combine Nature Fresh with equally compostable labels and trays; they are also compatible with all the other stretch films proposed by Fabbri Group (plasticized PVC, PE-based film, BIOBASED film) or on the market.
“Today more than ever, preserving the environment, preserving food and avoiding waste are part of Fabbri Group’s DNA – comments Stefano Mele CEO of Fabbri Group – These are the factors that 4 years ago led to the creation of the Nature Fresh project, a project that later also received the European Union recognition. But they are also the present and future promise that we want to keep towards our customers and ourselves: today’s recognition indicates that we are on the right path, also confirmed by the rapidly growing number of applications for the packaging of fresh products (fruit and vegetables, meat and fish) of Italian and foreign customers.”
